You want to learn how to airbrush. I can understand the desire, since I had the same desire years ago. I have never regretted it since, AIRBRUSHING IS FUN , challenging and rewarding in many aspects. It can also be a great source of income. That's the good news. And I have more as well. learning to airbrush simply a matter of practice and of course, some guidence from an experienced professional along the way.

Unfortunately, you are stuck with me. Just Kidding. I've been airbrushing for many moons and have just a wee bit to share with you. I don't claim to know it all, I don't, I can assure you, but I do believe I have a fairly good mastery of the medium.

Learn How To Airbrush: First Free Hand

When I say free hand I mean airbrushing with no masking. Just pick up the air brush and start painting. This is the fundamental building block and absolutely essential skill that anybody who wants to learn to airbrush must master.

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is to get out the hand held template or the masking material before they can free hand airbrush with any dexterity. They think that masking will be a cure all for all artistic short comings. NO! Don't go there.

Learn How To Airbrush: Second Learn Masking

If you are proficient at freehand airbrushing then it is with great confidence you will approach the use of hand held masks (shields) or hard fixed masking like Tape outs and other traditonal paint control layout. As you progress and learn you will find that freehand is just not enough sometimes. This is especially true of the custom painting industry.

Masking is very important to create precise and crisp edges where they are required for design purposes, but one of the pitfalls that many beginners make when they first strat is to become way too dependent on masks and stencils. the result is that their work looks too cut out.
